The USS Burgundy has been built in 2369 in the Mars' orbit at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards and finalized in 2371. She is a scoutship also made for scientific purposes. Originally christened "USS Heisenberg NCC-71901", when Sylvain TAISANT has been chosen to be her captain, it's been decided to rename her "USS Burgundy NCC-72021". Burgundy is the actual name of his french birth region and the last two digits correspond to the administrative division, known as Département, which is Côte-d'Or. The ship's symbolic motto as written on the dedication plaque is the following:
Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and call the adventure Science. -Edwin Hubble
